What It Means To Be A Duck:
Mike Bellotti and Oregon's Greatest Players
by Rob Moseley
In 1994 Oregon was a lightly regarded football school when Kenny Wheaton's interception return for a touchdown helped beat Washington, vaulted the Ducks into the Rose Bowl, and set the stage for Oregon's rise into college football's elite. One watershed moment helped change forever what it meant to be an Oregon Duck.
What It Means to Be a Duck: Mike Bellotti and Oregon's Greatest Players by Rob Moseley explores that simple question - What does it mean to be a Duck? One person or one phrase cannot answer that question because so many different emotions encompass the true Duck spirit.
More than 40 of the greatest Oregon student-athletes and coaches from the past century were called upon to express why they are so proud to be a part of the storied tradition that is Oregon football. Some of the icons who shared their insights into their college careers in Eugene include:
Ø Joey Harrington
Ø Dan Fouts
Ø Keenan Howry
Ø Chad Cota
Ø Gary Zimmerman
Ø Mel Renfro
Ø Ahmad Rashad
Ø Jack Patera
Ø Akili Smith
Ø Kellen Clemens
Ø Kenny Wheaton
Ø Dave Wilcox
What It Means to Be a Duck brings together all of their stories, as told by the most outstanding voices of the Oregon program and guaranteed to enhance your passion for Duck football. It's not just one tradition, one season or one particular game - it's the stories coming from the student-athletes and coaches who made the magic happen over the decades that capture the true essence of representing the University of Oregon.
