Author Biography

Michael Maxwell is an environmental consultant. He earned his MS in geology at the University of Iowa. He lives in Chicago. Kirk Ferentz is the head football coach at the University of Iowa. He is formerly head football coach at the University of Maine, and was assistant coach to the Cleveland Browns and also the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He was a linebacker with the University of Connecticut as a college student. He lives in Iowa City, Iowa. Gary Dolphin is the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the University of Iowa football and men's basketball teams for Learfield Sports and the Iowa Hawkeye Sports Network. He has held various other positions on radio and television, including a broadcaster position with Northwestern University athletics. He has twice been named "Iowa Sportscaster of the Year" by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. He lives in Peosta, Iowa.

About the author:

Michael Maxwell was born and raised in upstate New York.  After earning a bachelor's degree in geological sciences from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo, he enrolled at the University of Iowa as a graduate student in 1994.  He earned a master's degree in geology from Iowa in 1996 and has worked as an environmental consultant in Chicago for more than 12 years.  This book represents the first of what Maxwell hopes will be many published works relating to college and professional sports.
