The 50 Greatest Plays in Iowa Hawkeyes Football History by Michael Maxwell (forewords by Kirk Ferentz & Gary Dolphin) was created for serious football fans and those who want to look back on the most memorable games ever while enhancing their Hawkeye IQ.  It reveals special stories and experiences over the decades and memorable moments from the players and coaches who made them happen.  Author and University of Iowa alum Michael Maxwell shares what's really important and chronicles the most famous plays in Hawkeyes history including:

¨       Warren Holloway's miraculous game-ending TD catch to stun LSU in the Capitol One Bowl

¨       "The Kick": Rob Houghtlin's game-winning 29-yard field goal against Michigan in 1985

¨       Gordon Locke's one-yard TD plunge to hand Notre Dame its first loss in three years

¨       Chuck Long's TD run in the closing minute to clinch a comeback win over Michigan State

Hawkeye fans should be aware of all these incredible games, plays and stories that have created such a legacy for Iowa over the years.  Chuck Long, Nile Kinnick, Bill Reichardt, Andre Tippett, Brad Banks, Nate Kaeding and many more memorable Hawkeyes players are featured throughout the book.

So whether your favorite memory came in 1957 or 2005, whether it happened in Iowa City or in a bowl game, you know you are part of something special as an Iowa fan.  If you want to call yourself a true Hawkeyes aficionado, increase your knowledge of the program, and experience the full extent of Iowa football, then The 50 Greatest Plays in Iowa Hawkeyes Football History is a must read.
