Overview

From the creator of the wildly popular Freezing Cold Takes brand comes a laugh-out-loud, nostalgia-packed deep dive into the most ill-fated college football predictions ever made.

No American sporting tradition evokes more fervor from its fans than college football. In many regions, college programs dwarf their professional counterparts in both revenue and viewership.

This passion is served by the reporters, analysts, and so-called experts whose bold forecasts power an ever-churning content machine. But in this attention economy, the hotter the take, the more likely it is to freeze over.

Fred Segal has built a brand sharing these pundit pitfalls with hundreds of thousands of followers on his Freezing Cold Takes social media accounts. Now, in Freezing Cold Takes: College Football, the internet’s curator-in-chief of “how did they get this so wrong?” moments turns his sharp eye and wit to the sport’s most infamous misfires. From Heisman locks who fizzled to surefire coaching hires that backfired spectacularly, Segal has assembled a Hall of Fame of head-scratching predictions.

More than a book of blunders; this is a celebration of college football fandom in all its passionate, unpredictable glory. With can't-miss commentary and the harsh light of hindsight, Freezing Cold Takes: College Football is a must-have for diehards, casual fans, and anyone who enjoys a good laugh at the expense of certainty.
