The Best Stanley Cup Stories Ever Told
By Kevin Allen

No professional sport's relationship with its championship trophy rivals the unique love affair between the NHL and the Stanley Cup. While winning players had been "unofficially" celebrating with the cup for years, in 1995 a new rule was instituted that allowed the victors to each celebrate with the Cup for 24 hours in any way they deem appropriate.

"Then Wayne Said to Mario..." The Best Stanley Cup Stories Ever Told by Kevin Allen delves into some of the most memorable stories about the rich lore surrounding Lord Stanley's Cup and the skaters who have been its companions for a few precious hours. Most choose to take it back to their hometowns or to other places that played a key role in their careers, but the Cup has survived some amazing adventures as well, trekking across the globe to the delight of hockey fans who relish the opportunity to connect with the symbol of their favorite sport.

"Then Wayne Said to Mario..." includes stories such as:

•	The wild story of the Cup ending up on the bottom of Mario Lemieux's pool
•	The Red Wings rescuing the Cup from disgrace at a Def Leppard concert
•	The Cup's international travels, from Walt Disney World to Sweden

Dozens of the game's greatest stars share their memories of pursuing, winning, and celebrating with the Stanley Cup, making "Then Wayne Said to Mario..." a must-read for hockey fans of all kinds.
