162-0:
Imagine Twins Perfect Season
By Dave Wright

Even the greatest baseball teams lose 30 percent or more of their games each season. The Minnesota Twins have put together some very impressive regular season records in recent history, including AL Central titles in 2006 and 2009.

But imagine, Minnesota fans, a year in which the Twins never lose a single game. An undefeated regular season including a season-long sweep of the whole Central division...perfection at its greatest! Author and Minnesota journalist Dave Wright envisions just that in his new book 162-0: Imagine a Twins Perfect Season.

Wright chronicles the most memorable victories on each and every single day of the baseball calendar season, including:

• April 5, 2004 - Joe Mauer goes 2-for-3 with two walks in his first major league game in a 7-4 win over Cleveland. A sign of things to come for Mauer ... and the Twins.
• May 4, 1984 - Dave Kingman's popup stays in the Metrodome roof and is ruled a ground rule double during a weird 3-1 win over Oakland.
• June 26, 1977 - Glenn Adams ties a team record with eight RBI and Rod Carew sends his batting average over the .400 mark in a 19-12 win over the White Sox.
• August 30 1987 - Kirby Puckett goes 6-for-6 with four runs scored and four RBI in a 10-6 win over Milwaukee.
• September 25, 2008 - Alexi Casilla's 10th inning single caps a wild rally for a 7-6 win over the White Sox that propels the Twins into first place in the Central Division.

Ranging from games with incredible historical significance to great individual Twins achievements, 162-0: Imagine a Twins Perfect Season is a classic must-have for Twins fans that reflects back on the greatest moments in Minnesota Twins lore and ponders the impossible...a perfect season both at the Metrodome and on the road.
