Press Releases

The legacy of Penn State football and its legendary coach Joe Paterno has solidified the Nittany Lions in the national landscape of college football. Plenty of books honor Penn State\'s history, but none with the unique perspective of this brand new football book.

The Penn State Football Button Book by life-long Nittany Lions fans, Penn State graduates and brothers Martin Ford and Russell Ford examines the history, highlights and national championships produced by the Nittany Lions\' football program under Paterno\'s guidance but with a different twist. One of the enduring traditions for Penn State is to collect the booster buttons with their catchy slogans produced by Citizens Bank (and other previous bank sponsors) for every game. Every single button that has been produced during the past 32 years of this tradition is photographed for fans to relive and compare.

In addition, The Penn State Button Book ranks Penn State\'s top 100 games during the button era. Each game is summarized with details on the game\'s most memorable moments, key statistics and, of course, the button that was pressed for that day\'s game.

Penn State\'s history is further examined in a section that reviews the 11 \"Cycles of Excellence\" that comprises the Paterno era.

More than a historic reflection on one of college football\'s iconic coaches, more than a collection of the greatest moments in Penn State\'s football history, The Penn State Button Book is a testament to the glory of the Nittany Lions\' football program with a fresh point of view that fans of any age will enjoy.
