In his tell-all book Mark and Me: Mark McGwire and the Truth Behind Baseball's Worst-Kept Secret, Jay McGwire describes how steroids took control of his life in his pursuit of becoming a professional bodybuilder. During that time, Jay witnessed his brother's body begin to break down in the early 1990s.
