In 22 seasons in Major League Baseball Tom Glavine amassed his share of honors and achievements. He won 305 games, played for 10 All-Star teams, earned four Silver Sluggers, two Cy Young awards and one World Series MVP trophy. In more than two decades of dominance, he also took home his share of baseball memories.
In Inside Pitch: Playing and Broadcasting the Game I Love (Triumph Books, June 2016), Glavine, along with sportswriter Nick Cafardo, reviews the events in his life that led to his developing into one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. Adapted from Glavine’s None but the Braves, this great autobiography features new material and a fresh perspective. From his early years growing up in Massachusetts up through his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Inside Pitch paints a picture of Glavine’s career the same way Glavine painted the corners: Perfectly. Highlights include:
Inside Pitch takes a generation of fans, not just of the Braves but of baseball itself, through a golden age of pitching in an era known for offense. Glavine’s story is that of a hard-working, talented, and dedicated athlete that will bring value to anyone who picks it up. No baseball fan’s library is complete without it.
