Overview

Jon Falk is a living encyclopedia of Michigan football tradition and history, and these firsthand, inside stories reveal the priceless experiences of the coaches and players who made it happen. He’s not as well known as the Big House itself or even the Little Brown Jug, but among coaches, players, and a good portion of the Michigan football faithful, Jon Falk has forged a colorful legend of his own. While games are won and lost on the field, it’s in the locker room where stories are told, friendships are made, and memories are created during the best four years of any college player’s life.

The Michigan Wolverines football team has had many legends that have played or coached over the years, but one of the most valuable members of the team is equipment manager Jon Falk.

Falk was hired as the team's equipment manager by Bo Schembechler in 1974 and has been one of the most trusted members of the staff for the past four decades. In his updated paperback version of If These Walls Could Talk: Michigan Football Stories From Inside the Big House, written with Dan Ewald (foreword by Tom Brady), Falk shares countless stories from an insider's perspective including:

Bo Schembechler's epic gridiron chess matches with Ohio State's Woody Hayes

Why a Michigan place-kicker was falsely accused of robbing a bank

What lesson Tom Brady took from Falk and still uses today

Why Falk took the shirt off of the back of a freshman during a game

The day Falk introduced freshman phenom Anthony Carter to All-American Ron Kramer

Falk has filled the role of cheerleader, historian, mentor, counselor, and friend. He's big on tradition and somewhere along the way became a tradition himself. His unique ability to fulfill his duties while also making the effort to go beyond the realm of his job description has made him such a memorable and influential part of the Michigan football program.

If These Walls Could Talk will give fans a taste of what it's like to be a part of Michigan's storied history from a perspective unlike any other. Along the way, fans will learn about a man whose work-ethic and overall character has made a major impact on Michigan players and coaches for nearly four decades. Michigan fans will not want to be without this book.
