Few franchises can boast the rich football tradition of the Green Bay Packers. On autumn weekends, more than 70,000 fans fill Lambeau Field and cheer with gusto for the Green and Gold.
For the Love of the Packers: An A-to-Z Primer for Packers Fans of All Ages, with text by Frederick C. Klein and illustrations by Mark Anderson (Foreword by Paul Hornung) offers at least 26 reasons to love the Packers.
Each letter of the alphabet - "W is for Reggie White ..." - is the basis for a short rhyme, penned by former Wall Street Journal-columnist Frederick C. Klein, and accompanied by a detailed, four-color cartoon by widely-published illustrator Mark Anderson.
Football fans will have the opportunity to look up the illustrations of some of the most famous (and infamous) characters in Packers football history such as:
¨ Brett Favre ¨ Vince Lombardi ¨ Bart Starr
¨ Reggie White ¨ Paul Hornung
¨ Ray Nitschke ¨ Donald Driver ¨ Curly Lambeau
For the Love of the Packers is a wonderful tool for young readers to learn about the history, legends, triumphs and tragedies that constitute the background behind the Green Bay Packers.
