In November 2002, a retired ice hockey star for the St. Louis Blues was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario. Known as one of hockey's most overlooked players, little is known about the Canadian-Ukrainian man who took the National Hockey League by storm for 13 out of 14 seasons. The question remains: Who is the great Bernie Federko?

In Bernie Federko: My Blues Note (Triumph Books, October 16, 2018), former professional ice hockey player Bernie Federko, who is best known for playing for the Blues for more than a decade, and beat writer Jeremy Rutherford, who has covered the Blues for most of his career, offers an intimate first look at the life of a St. Louis icon. From the first time he set foot on the ice to the end of his storied career and all the events that took place in between, this new release contains everything that needs to be known about the hockey legend.  Highlights include:

  • A chance meeting with ice hockey player and coach turned commentator Barry Melrose
  • Background on how Federko was initially groomed to become a skater only to become a budding hockey player
  • The two years Federko spent coaching and managing the St. Louis Vipers roller hockey team
  • The events leading up to Federko becoming the first player in NHL history to score at least 50 assists in 10 straight seasons

Brimming with never-before-told stories about the past and insights into the present and future, Bernie Federko: My Blues Note is perfect for hockey fans, veterans and newcomers alike, eager to expand their knowledge of the celebrated playmaker.
