Autumns in the Garden:
The Coach of Camelot and Other Knicks Stories
By Ira Berkow

The Best of the Berkow, From Sweetwater Clifton to Carmelo Anthony

In feature stories and his "Sports of the Times" column for The New York Times, Ira Berkow intimately followed the Knicks, interviewed coaches and players and wrote about them with his signature warm, reverent and personal prose. Berkow was hired on the cusp of the Knicks' championship era when crowds at the Garden included long-time celebrity fans such as Woody Allen and Dustin Hoffman, and the team owned the New York sports scene.

Autumns in the Garden: The Coach of Camelot and Other Knicks Stories (Triumph Books, October 2013) by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ira Berkow combines the best of over 40 years of his Knicks coverage for the first time and brings together some of the most inspired sports writing about:

• Memories and anecdotes about some of the biggest names in Knicks history, including Dave DeBusschere, Bill Bradley, Willis Reed and Patrick Ewing
• Red Holzman, one of the oldest and most respected coaches in the league
• Insights into legendary Knicks rivals such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and of course, the ever-infamous Reggie Miller
• Humanizing reflections on larger-than-life professional players such as Walt ‘Clyde" Frazier, Bernard King and Charles Oakley

Berkow writes with heart, candor and insight in Autumns in the Garden, a collection that will inform and entertain die-hard Knicks fans and basketball lovers alike.
