Inside the Huddle for the Greatest Plays in Eagles History

By Reuben Frank and Mark Eckel / Foreword by Seth Joyner

Contact: Samantha Frontera, Triumph Books, 312.676.4224, s.frontera@triumphbooks.com

The Philadelphia Eagles have impacted NFL history since they were founded in 1931. Although fans have endured a roller coaster ride along the way, they are still the most diehard and loyal in the NFL. The Eagles have sold out every single game since the 1999 season. Also, their legacy holds true, as the Eagles have won three NFL titles and made two Super Bowl appearances.

The Philadelphia Eagles Playbook: Inside the Huddle for the Greatest   Plays in Eagles History (Triumph Books, September 2015) by Reuben Frank and Mark Eckel showcases remarkable stories from the Philadelphia Eagles playbook. With numerous wins and some losses, the Philadelphia Eagles persevered. In the late 1980s the Eagles determination led them to the playoffs. In 1999, the Eagles hired head coach Andy Reid and drafted quarterback Donovan McNabb, creating momentum to return to the playoffs in 2000. You’ll feel like a part of the action thanks to descriptive play diagrams that led to these unforgettable moments. Plus, firsthand accounts from Eagles players, coaches and management are included. Frank and Eckel explore Eagles history to include every battle and milestone, such as:

  • Philadelphia Eagles’ running back, Wilbert Montgomery, overcame his knee injury to lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl in 1980
  • The Eagles reached the postseason four straight years in a row from 1978-1981
  • In 1988, Randall Cunningham took on Giants’ lineman to pull off the greatest play in Eagles’ history
  • The Eagles played in four consecutive NFC Championship Games between 2001 and 2004

The Philadelphia Eagles Playbook is ideal for fans seeking the most authentic stories within the Eagles huddle and delivers an exclusive look at the Philadelphia Eagles history as one of the most prominent sports teams in the NFL.
