Fans of the LSU Tigers, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints who will be in Canton, Ohio, the weekend of Aug. 6-8 for the Class of 2010 inductions into the Pro Football Hall of Fame will discover a special treat. Hall of Fame fullback Jim Taylor will be signing copies of his autobiography, The Fire Within. Taylor will appear at the Pro Football Hall of Fame store on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that weekend. Packers Fans To Meet Jim Taylor
Green Bay Packers fans have several chances to meet Packers legend Jim Taylor this month when the Hall of Famer signs copies of his autobiography, THE FIRE WITHIN, across the state. Taylor will appear in Green Bay on September 16 and 18 before his appearances in Brookfield (September 23) and West Allis (September 25). Coach Vince Lombardi called him the most determined runner he had ever seen. New York Giants middle linebacker Sam Huff called him the hardest-hitting fullback in the NFL. On the field Jim Taylor became known as "Thunder" by the Green Bay Packers under Lombardi. His devestating blocks and powerful running style, combined with Green Bay's "Lightning" Paul Hornung, gave the Packers "run to daylight" attack respect and admiration around the league.

Taylor covers his early days as a boy growing up during the depression and how he became the football legend that he is known as today. He spans his whole career, from his time as an All-American at LSU, his success as a Packer from 1958 through 1966, and the then newly formed New Orleans Saints in 1967, to his 1976 induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also speaks candidly about his post-playing career passion and desire for charitable work, and the new wife who changed his life in so many ways.

About the Authors:
Jim Taylor began his NFL career with Green Bay in 1958 after gaining All-American acclaim at LSU. He was a 1,000-yard rusher for five straight years and in 1962 was the league's MVP and leading rusher with 1,474 yards. Taylor also played in five consecutive Pro Bowls. In 1976 Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Today Jim is active in many charity golf tournaments and travels the world extensively with his wife, Helen.

 

Dr. Kristine Setting Clark is a University of San Francisco graduate, author, and a feature writer for the San Francisco 49ers' and Dallas Cowboys' Gameday magazines. She has authored or coauthored five other books: A Cowboy's Life; Undefeated, United, and Uninvited; St Clair: I'll Take it Raw !; Legends of the Hall: the Fabulous Fifties; and Nothing Comes Easy. Dr. Clark resides in Northern California with her husband and has two grown children and two grandsons.
