Nobody knows the game of golf like a caddie. The long-shot dreams, jaw-dropping victories, and soul-crushing defeats - the caddie sees it all. Rarely receiving credit when things go right and frequently taking the blame when things go wrong, caddies are the invisible backbone of the game. Behind every top 10 finish, every Tour championship, and every missed cut, there is a guy pulling clubs for his pro. For decades, these "loopers" were viewed as second-class citizens, often staying five (or more) to a room in dive motels. It was a job reserved for alcoholics, drug addicts, and high school dropouts. Not anymore.

This nomadic profession attracts a motley collection of Ivy League lawyers, Dead Heads, chiropractors, evangelical Christians, former PGA players, and blood relatives. From the aptly named "Reefer" Ray and Dave Reptile Lemon to Fred Couple's longtime wingman Joe LaCava and the legendary Linn Strickler, Caddie Confidential is an insider's look at the game from the Tour's top bagmen. Anecdotes, practical tips, superstitions, and infamous stories that have only been told in their inner circle make this the most comprehensive collection of golf tales and advice ever assembled from the unsung heroes of the game.

Caddie Confidential
Throughout golf's glorious past, caddies have always known that it's best to fly under the radar, because that usually means things are going well and they haven't screwed anything up for their golfer.  You never hear about them when scores are low and all is right with the golf gods.  But when the chips are down and something controversial occurs, then rest assured it must have been the caddie's fault and he's going to take some of the blame for it.

In Caddie Confidential: Great Golf Stories From the PGA Tour, popular caddie Greg "Piddler" Martin compiled some of the wildest and most entertaining stories from his caddie colleagues across the tour.  Get an insider's scoop on some incredible tales from on and off the course that range from both the hilarious to the downright unusual.

Caddie Confidential includes many intriguing facts on the most popular golfers directly from their caddies, including:

  • Who is the best tipper on tour?
  • Which players could use some anger management classes?
  • Who comes up with outrageous excuses after blowing a tournament?
  • What legend must have a 1967 quarter in his pocket before he plays?
  • Which top player has had the same caddie since he was in high school?
  • How much of a cut does the caddie get on a major payday?

Throughout Caddie Confidential, you will read insider tales from the caddies of
golf's most popular players, including Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, John Daly, Vijay Singh, Fred Couples and many, many others.  If you are a golf fanatic, then this book is a must-read if you want to go behind the scenes with some of the PGA's premier names and their caddies.
