All Rise is the authorized biography of this remarkable man, a man who became a pioneer for his race without setting out to be one. Alan Page is one of the greatest defensive players in the history of football. After excelling at Notre Dame, he went on to a stellar career as a lineman with the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. Bill McGrane is uniquely qualified to write this biography, having known Alan Page for more than 40 years and boasting a résumé that includes parallel successful careers as both a writer (including a stint as a sports reporter for the Minneapolis Tribune) and professional football administrator (with the National Football League front office, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears).
