Knowledge and memory are an important part of the fabric of being a fan.  So are experiences.  100 Things also includes things football fans should actually see and do before they join their heroes at the Pearly Gates.  This book contains numerous tips and suggestions for enjoying a team on a different, more involved, level.

100 Things Buckeye Fans

“O-H!” goes the familiar call, prompting the just-as-familiar response, “I -O!”  Perhaps no college football program in the country can rival the Ohio State Buckeyes and 100 Things Buckeye Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die captures the spirit of OSU football through seven National Championships and six Heisman Trophy winners.  100 Things starts with a foreword from two-time Heisman Trophy Winner Archie Griffin and ends with a story about Brutus the Buckeye.  In between, it’s a fun, fact-filled, fall frolic covering more than a century of one of the most important college football programs ever.

The players, the coaches, the traditions, and the stories, it’s all in 100 Things Buckeye Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die.  From the 27-2 run of Woody Hayes’ Class of ’70 that included Rex Kern, John Brockington, Jack Tatum, Jim Stillwagon, and Mike Sensibaugh to the Buckeyes’ dramatic 2003 Fiesta Bowl win over Miami that gave current coach Jim Tressel his first National Championship, 100 Things Buckeye Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die will have Buckeye fans wearing their scarlet and gray while they relive stories about “That Team Up North,” remember Woody-isms, and learn about the tradition of dotting the i. And the unique format ranking the 100 Things should have fans debating Buckeye history at tailgate and football parties all fall.  Other stories include:

·         How Woody Hayes wasn’t the first choice to coach the Buckeyes

·         What bold statement Jim Tressel made the first time he addressed Ohio State fans

·         How Michigan might have actually invented Script Ohio

·         Where to go to see Woody’s grave and other Buckeye shrines

"In between it's a fun, fact-filled, fall frolic covering more than a century of one of the most important college football programs."

Discussed is the 27-2 run of Woody Hayes' Class of 1907, a record compiled by such familiar names as Rex Kern, John Brockington, Jack Tatum, Jim Stillwagon and Mike Sensibaugh. Also highlighted is the recent success of teams coached by Jim Tressel, which includes the Buckeyes' dramatic victory in the 2003 national championship bowl game.
