Should Know & Do Before They Die
By Jack Wilkinson
Most Atlanta Braves fans have taken in a game or two at Turner Field, have seen highlights of a young Hank Aaron, and have heard the story of the 1914 "Miracle Braves." But only real fans have traveled to Pearl to watch the Mississippi Braves, can recall all 14 of the franchise's no-hitters, and can tell you the only man to play for the Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta Braves.
In 100 Things Braves Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die, author Jack Wilkinson reveals the most critical moments and important facts about past and present players, managers, and teams that are part of this illustrious history. Scattered throughout the pages, you'll find some of the most famous games, players, traditions, and Braves lore to test your knowledge including:
- Numbers with a huge impact, such as 715, .438, and 40-40-40
- The origins of the Chop and the Chant
- The infamous night that team owner Ted Turner managed the Braves
- Babe Ruth's swan song season with the Boston Braves
- The SuperStation and how it helped make the Braves "America's Team"
Whether you're a die-hard booster from the days of Eddie Mathews or a recent supporter of Jason Heyward and the 2010 National League Wild Card team, these are the 100 things every fan needs to know and do in their lifetime. If you want to call yourself a true Braves aficionado, increase your knowledge of the franchise, and experience the full extent of Atlanta baseball, then 100 Things Braves Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die is a must read.
